Back to Waikiki

Thought this was a very cute door mat to come home to.
Plus it totally matches the pot my plant is in.

Look how well it all goes together. Nice!

Close up of the plant. Isn't it pretty?

Finally stained the bed. I am really into dark wood right now.

Since the bed is so high and you kinda have to scooch off of it, I needed really low profile drawer pulls that wouldn't scratch me. I think I did a pretty good job. I even had to center and drill the holes for the pulls. After three hours, a couple calls to my dad, and a small emotional breakdown I think I did a pretty good job.

The look pulled together.

A birthday present from my mom and Henry.

Close up of my new bed spread. I absolutely love it.
It is a pale tourquoise blue with this type of stitching all over.
I bought some really soft totally white sheets to go with it. They are so crisp and clean.
It's great.
OK, that is all I've done so far. I'll keep you posted.
Peace! MEA

Way to go MEA! The bed looks great. Staining wood isn't fun. Now that you're finished with that can you please come paint our crown molding. It doesn't seem to be painting itself these days.... hmmm how can I get Jim to paint? hmmm, I'll just have to do it myself. Talk to you later. Love you, Christy

Looks great! good job on the staining and drawer pulls. =) Hopefully, I will be able to see it in person! I still haven't ironed out the details on that yet.

I just spent three days at my best friend's house doing cabinet knobs and drawer pulls, and it's harder than it looks! Fantastic job MEA.

View is of 3's.
You will have to come show how to make the paddle out to it shorter.
Have a great weekend.
Thanks again for lunch this last week. See you when I get back from Australia.
Peace!

Love the bed - - I have a similar crazy tall bed, but I bought it and didn't have to do any construction! Mine came with a set of stairs (cuz I'm way shorter than you and I otherwise wouldn't be able to get up on it)! Hope you're hanging in there - it's very weird without Donna here for the marathon (that's when I always see you!)... if you're down at the park on Sunday stop by and say hi!!
