Wow! That was fast.

The surgery went great!
My friend Linda dropped me off at the hospital at 8am. I was kept in the waiting room till about 9:30 am. That was long, boring and lonely, but I survived. Then they took me to prep, which was another long wait. My surgeon was late, so I didn't actually get into the OR until 11:10 (I was originally scheduled for 10am). But what was amazing is that I woke up from the surgery at 11:50. I don't know how long that means the surgery took, but geez, in and awake all in 40 minutes, that seems really fast to me.
Plus I wasn't really groggy either. My friend Sarah was there when I woke up, I had to wait around a bit, but then she took me home and we hung out for awhile and after she left I went for a little shopping around Waikiki.
My friend Laramy came over and made some dinner and Shannon came over after volleyball and stayed the night with me, and I have Theresa set up for tonight, but I am really good. So it is a little overkill. But fun anyways to hang with friends.
Well that is the update.
Thanks for the prayers.
Peace,

Say Goodbye to Linus!

Hey, hey, hey - I will be getting my port out on Friday. Yay!
I have friends lined up to take me to and from the hospital as well as stay with me and cook me dinner all through the weekend - so no worries, I will be well taken care of.
The doc said he can go in through the same incision he put it in with and that I should be back to normal in 4 days.
He also said, and this is gross, that it would fill up with fluid for about a month filling the void that the port left. He said as my skin goes back to normal that the fluid would go away and the bump would return to normal.
I am excited to have this final step of my cancer saga completed.
Have a very happy memorial day weekend!
Peace,
